Descendants of George Slifer and Susan Strunk
George Slifer was born in 1804 in Alsace, the son of Philip Slifer and Catherine Jung. After immigrating to the United States, he married Susan Strunk around 1826 in Wayne County, Ohio. Susan was born in Pennsylvania in 1803. By 1840, they had settled in Hancock County, Indiana, where George was the proprietor of an inn east of Greenfield along the National Road. George died in Hancock County in 1849, and Susan passed away in 1856.
